As I said in an earlier post I run on the treadmill. I run for an hour everyday. My routine is all cardio since that I want to lose weight. I choose the weight loss program on the treadmill which puts me on an steep incline and then slows down and goes to a less steep incline then switches back in intervals. My parents say there has been improvement but I don't really notice since that they see my entire body in a different perspective then i do. My fitness improved before the break but it dipped after coming back since I went to India and couldn't run or exercise since how busy I was. Coming back after competing all missed work I started to run again. I noticed how quickly I got back to my original pace, I even intensified it. Ever since I started to run i notice how my body works and what i need to do to improve it.
P.S this picture is from a little while after coming back since that I lost this picture and finally found it recently.
I love this! Good choice for which version on the treadmill to do. I want you to do some muscle building stuff too because muscle mass burns calories way faster than other body tissue. Even while you sleep! Plus it will help shape your body (which I think is what you are after). YOU DO NOT NEED WEIGHTS! Here is what you should do. Try doing the most regular pushups you can in row… even if it is only a few. Then do it again , and again, and again. 4 times of your max pushups. Then do one body bridge (plank) for as long as you can. That's it! Do that 3/4 times a week (rest one day in-between). Your chest and arms will start to get bigger, you will burn calories, and your waist will narrow. :) Keep up the treadmill too. The last thing is to really avoid "empty calories" like pop, slurps, even juice. Drink only water. No chai. Water. :)
